Cleantech Council delegates meet monthly to discover startups and innovation across clean, green, and sustainable technologies and build community with colleagues from like-minded corporations committed to paving the road to a sustainable future through partnership.

This month, we open our meeting to the public, as we look at innovation opportunities in recycling.

A close look at the overlap of manufacturing and recycling shows only 9%  of plastics ever created have been recycled and 50% of yearly produced plastic is for single-use and immediately relegated as waste.

While plastics may be one of the first materials that comes to mind when we think of recycling, there are many other substances that don’t need to be used once and tossed out as useless afterwards.

A growing commitment to fight the climate crisis by manufacturers and their consumers had led several entrepreneurs to focus on harnessing the power of recycling. Not only committing to it for their own production practices, but actually making it the focal point of their enterprise.

The Cleantech Council’s recycling meeting brings together companies working on recycling technologies and companies eager to put them to use. This meeting will introduce a number of recycling categories and highlight some of the companies working on them, including:

• Working on the single-use plastics problem
• Reuse and recycling of gasses and heat
• Circular economy for building materials
• ... Other technologies welcome; all attendees have a voice in our Roundtables.

MEETING FORMAT

Cleantech Council Unpanels start with the audience, by getting the audience deeply involved right from the start. After the audience feedback, our experts address the topics based on the guidance from the attendees. It makes for an interesting, fun, and interactive discussion that connects the audience’s interests with knowledge from the panelists.

As with every Cleantech Council meeting, the agenda is also packed with presentations and demos from new companies and new technologies.

This is a live, interactive meeting available to attend in-person in Silicon Valley.

  This 2-hour agenda includes a networking break, demo tables, a highly interactive unpanel, startup pitches, and lunch. Contact information, presentations, and introductions are not included.

• TECHNOLOGY PITCH: $250
  5-minute Rapid Fire pitch to introduce a relevant technology, company, or product to attendees and Cleantech Council members at large.

• MEETING TABLE: $250
  Tables are inside the meeting room, and can be used to show demos, followup on your pitch, or start conversation with other attendees before, during, and after the main agenda. They are 30” round / 42" tall cocktail tables with black linen, power, and Wi-Fi when available, and signed with your logo.

Cleantech Council meetings are hosted by companies around the Silicon Valley who are leading the way in green, clean, sustainable innovation.
